Introduction

Welcome to Scale Modeling History! I have recently been blogging about my trading card collection, and I've come to really love the concept, and the features that BlogSpot provides, so I decided to make blogs to cover all my hobbies.

I began building scale models in November 1999, and I still do today, although I have to admit, I don't finish many, and they usually aren't all that great. But nothing beats the thrill of finishing off a model. For the past few years I've only been able to finish on average 2 a year, but I hope to change that in 2015. As I paint outside, and it's about 8°F out, I have not worked on anything yet this year...but that will change.

From 1999-2009 I only built car models, but during 2009 I joined my local IPMS chapter, the Hudson Valley Historical Miniatures Guild, and since that time I have begun building everything, with most of my attention on 1/72 aircraft and 54mm figures, specifically historical figures. My automotive builds, which still comprise roughly 85% of my building time, are mainly NASCAR related, followed by mild custom and factory stock.

In time I will post all my decent builds- I've built over 200 models, but more than half are of very poor quality- and post updates as I build and go to shows and club meetings.

I am a member of two model clubs, the Town of Newburgh Model Car Club, which I joined in March 2002, and the aforementioned HVHMG, which I joined in February 2009. I am also nominally a member of MassCar but they are too far away to attend any meetings. I don't even make half the meetings of my two local clubs most of the time, either.

I have had models published in both Scale Auto and Model Cars Magazine. Those instances, which I will talk more about in future posts, are the highlights of my modeling career.

Thank you for reading, and stay tuned for some builds!
